On Nov 22, 2006 our lives changed forever. Caden was rushed to the ER. He was in cardiac and respiratory arrest. At Childrens Medical Center of Dallas we were told that Caden had a brain tumor the size of an orange on his left side and encroaching on his frontal lobe. He was in a coma being kept alive by machines. On thanksgiving day, the doctors told us that there was nothing they could do for him and that he would pass away at any time and it would not be prudent to resusitate him, he was brain dead and his heart and lungs were giving out. On Nov 24, 2006, the day after thanksgiving we gave the doctors permission donate tissue and we took him off of life support. Caden provided sight to a 16 year old girl and a 36 year ofd man. He also donated heart valves for emergencies. After the autopsy, we learned that Caden had the most aggressive type of brain tumor, Glioblastoma Multiforme grade IV. It broke out hearts to have to tell Ethan that his brother, his best friend, Caden had died. Caden is buried at Grapevine Historic Cemetry. We chose this place because you can hear Puffy the train from this location as he comes into the train station.
